Trek 1.2
Hey everybody, I found a 2011 trek 1.2 on craigslist and managed to talk the guy down to $500. What are your thoughts? What are somethings I should check to make sure the bike is in good order? Basically a new bike with a few scratches on it with sora components and tiagra rear derailleur for $500? Thoughts and opinions? Thanks in advance.

oh yes. for sure im gonna test ride it first. to see if it fits and ill make sure to test the shifters and see how it feels. i will also check out for any frame damage. thanks. but its pretty much worth it right? because its worth around $900 when it was new. and for $500 its a pretty good deal?

I personally think it is a very good deal. I have a 1.5 as my first road bike and love it. I did my first 100 this weekend and have put in over 800 since the end of Jan. I think the frame feels great (I have no reference point). I believe you will have the same frame. Not sure about the components on the 1.2 but I have had no problem with the Tiagras. Do you like the color? Good luck

If it fits and is in the condition you say it is, snatch it right up.
Don't even think about it. Get it. Great deal.
Otherwise, you can go for a brand new Trek 1.1
for a hundred bucks more and get a warranty.

Very good deal. Make sure it's the size(cm) that fits you. Take it for a spin and check shifting. That bike is retailing for all most $800.00.
