+1 on the Lizard Skins. I have been a long time user of the Fizik tape and just switched to the Lizard Skins tape and I am really loving how it feels wet and dry. I use white and it seems to clean well. The only downside is it is a little pricey.

My new R3 came with Fizik tape. It sucks. Imagine your bars feeling like the grip of a tennis racket. No cushion whatsoever.
Cork is where it's at. Right now I'm looking at replacing my Fizik tape with either Prologo or Cinelli cork tape, or possibly Deda foam tape. I tried the Deda tape on my last bike and really liked it.

This was the classic BF Bar tape review thread.

I keep going back to the Specialized Roubaix every time I try something else.

If you want something fun check out FUBAR bar tape. I use the metallic silver:
Not for everyone but I like it. It's decently grippy despite its looks. It's also very durable and stays clean. It's also about $10 on Ebay. The silver is a little hard to wrap compared to standard cork tapes, but not horrible. They have a lot of other fun colors and patterns.

I like the Fizik Microtex Soft Touch. Feels great when it's dry, it's not slippery when it's wet and the black stuff is black hole black - no light escapes it, it's great.

To the person who asked, Fizik Dual is pretty easy to keep clean, if you're going to use white tape. I don't find it hard to wrap with at all, as others have. YMMV.

Cinelli cork. Nothing else like it.

FSA Gel Cork Tape. I was a bit disappointed when my gf bought it for me, but when I tried it I was very surprised how nice it is. Its like a mix of gel inserts and cork tape. It is very grippy and better than any other cork tape I have tried (deda, specialized, bontrager). I also like it better than fizik microtex (with and without gel inserts). Only con is that it only comes in two colors.

I just rewrapped with the same stuff. I'm really liking it.

Since almost no one really compares different tapes here or mentions exactly why one tape is better than another, all I get from this thread is that I should get my own damn tape and decide for myself. Hahahaha. There was on helpful comment that confirmed the glossy Fizik tape does not provide enough cushion, but others seems to think that's fine...
I have my stock Cannondale black bar tape that I won't be replacing any time soon. The only issue I have with it is that after 40+ mile rides, some of my fingers get covered in black and it is quite annoying. But I don't know if that's from the bar tape, SRAM hoods, or maybe even just unavoidable road grime. At this point I should probably wash my gloves as a result.

I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference. After trying a few different options I have come to the conclusion that I prefer Cinelli cork. Specialized and Deda cork are also not bad. I tried Fizik microtex but didn't care for the thinness. I have also given up on trying to keep white tape clean, so regardless of brand I go with simple black cork.

Your basic Cinelli and Profile cork tape works for me. Tried the Fizik microtex once after everyone on BF raved about it. I should have learned to not listen. That stuff sucked, I pulled it off after two weeks.
