Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Carbon bike creaking on trainer

Lately my bike has been making a creaking noise when I kinda wobble on the seat while it's hooked up to the trainer. Is this anything to be worried about?

I've been thinking it might be that the back wheel is too tight and that it's putting too much stress on the bike.

My new bike with a new CycleOps Fluid 2 does that also. Shifting to a higher gear it goes away some.

Mine was creaking the other day and I removed it from the trainer and retightened it on the rear skewer and it went away. I doubt it is a problem.

Thanks, I feel a lot better.

I'll probably take it off and put it back on the trainer tonight--fortunately it only needs to be on the trainer for another week or two then I'll be outdoors

A little bit of bike lube on the rear skewer where it attaches to the trainer eliminated mine.

Bike lube as in like white lightning wax? Or something else?
