Should I ride with a slight hangover?
There's a group ride at 10am and I had a little bit too much with dinner last night. I think if I go I wouldn't be able to keep up with everyone else.
What do you guys do when you over indulge a little?

Some of my best rides have come the day after indulging in some good wine or a couple Guiness....Geez I was in Ireland for a week last year and every evening included some wine with dinner, followed by some Guiness at the pub...Riding was fantastic

If you really have a 'slight hangover' you will probably be fine. The blast of air will help you shake it off quickly. Just drink some extra water.
But if slight hangover for you means shakes, profuse sweating and shrinking from light like a vampire then you will need a little hair of the dog before you ride.

ashamedly, i've not only done group rides hungover, but still impaired from hard partying that lasted into the morning. you start off drunk, in the middle hungover and by the end you've sweat it all out. don't crash anybody.
btw, i'm past this stage.

Suck it up. You'll feel better after you puke after the first long hill.
You're also dehydrated so drink lots* before and during the ride.
* - not what you were drinking last night.

I went riding with a couple of buddies the day after some serious late night celebrating and pulled out in front of a pick up causing to skid off the road and a couple of miles later hit my buddies back wheel and crashed. All in all, it was a great ride and I felt much better afterward...

Have to agree. HTFU and ride. You'll be a better man for it.

I don't drink, so I can't comment on the hangover part. But I do find that when I have a bad headache and wonder whether I should ride or not that I feel much better 1/2 hour into the ride. The headache is invariably gone by the time I am done. I vote ride.

kinda shocked at the htfu comments. would you want this guy next to you in a group ride?
stay home or ride alone. don't put anyone's safety in jeopardy. even being hungover can impair your judgment, reaction time, balance, etc.

I've ridden while still drunk and covered in Sharpie from the night before. I just stay at the back of the pack if its a big group ride and sweat it out. once I sober up I just join the main group and I'm fine. Make sure you drink a lot of waterand get something get something to eat. One time I had an allergic reaction and broke out I hives while riding and still drunk. Then of all the bad luck I got a flat. I just htfu and got through it.

Drink a 4Loco in the morning for a little extra energy and keep the buzz going. Why fight the hangover?
