Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

F Pacific effing Cycle and their merry go round with what used to some of the best US made bike brands.

I bought my brother a brand new GT full suspension for his birthday, pre 2000, and ended up replacing the drivetrain because I rode it so much. The last year or so I have been in full on hunting mode for another one and nearly bought either a hardtail or a road bike to lessen the urges. My brothers GT was by far the best bike I have ever ridden and I will own another sometime soon.
I passed on a $40 1992 or so GT Karakoram at a yard sale last summer just because I was feeling too lazy to two-bike ride back up the hill then resume my ride.

Half tempted to put my 150mm stem on the Outpost and take it for a trail ride, but gotta put it on the CL tomorrow before I get attached to it.

Sleeping seems way more valuable to me in the 6am-9am hours than in the 10pm-1am hours.

Last road bike kneeing was upon snapping a chain on my Univega.

i currently have DA7900 on my S2 and love it, but i've never tried RED, and why not try something different, hahahaha!!! i hope i'm not making a mistake....
Thanks. I use a 11-23. It is good even for the climbing I do around here, which can get awful steep. Once you go Red, you'll never go back.

I hit the stem of my mtb two days before the state championships one year. It resulted in a "bruised bone". I ended up having accupuncture and a few other pain management techniques. I could barely even stand to be on a bike or walk afterwards. The race was the muddiest race that I have ever ridden and I was completely miserable the entire time. I managed to finish third and ended up third for the season but I'm still not sure it was worth it.
