Televised bike races

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've already watched a few races on VS this year. There is usually a race every Sunday.

Universal Sports has some bike races, too: https://www.universalsports.com/tv-li...=CY/index.html
They had Milan-San Remo last week. I think they're showing the Giro, too.

Watched a little of a TT event a couple of weeks ago...not real exciting. TT's are pretty boring to watch.

TTs are great to watch in person since you get to see the racers individually, instead of having a huge pack whiz by in a couple of seconds. On TV, only the last few minutes of the event when the leaders are finishing are real interesting.

i disagree. i actually enjoy a lot of the race. granted the first 1-2 hours of each stage of le TdF can be boring/lackluster, i love watching the "chess game" of break aways and chases and all. even watching the pack after a feed zone and/or the one guy w/ 12 bottles in his jersey distributing them to the team lol
and of course the last hour of each stage is generally pretty cool. especially when its some lesser known cyclist out front, alone trying deserately to maintain the lead.

last year i paid for the VS online viewing of le TdF and was able to listen/watch every single stage (while at work!!!)

I was referring to TT races where there are no break aways or chases.

Milan San-Remo is on.....right now!

Edit: It's on again tomorrow (Saturday) @ 4pm mountain time if you missed it. I only found it at the last 9k to go, just in time for the Poggio. I won't say who won....I love San Remo, ever since watching Sean Kelly blow the crap out of that descent!

Agreed. I've never seen so many close-call breakaway finishes in a single stage race before, and the hairy descents in the rain had me on the edge of my seat.

Universal Sports has a package for $35 for all their stuff for the year on streaming. It's quite good and commercial-free.

I've been watching the spring classics on cycling.tv; just enjoyed Dwars Door Vlaanderen yesterday, and looking forward to E3 Prijs Harelbeke and Gent Wevelgem this weekend, both live or on archive later.

There is a great cycling torrents community that caps and posts all the international racing.

Their rules forbid me from posting the address. But if you really scour the web I'm sure you can find it, as it's quite popular.
