Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Piece cracked off supersix where cable end goes into

Yikes !

I'm pretty upset. I was going over my brake system because I was getting binding somewhere and I discovered this

the edge of the lip came off. No cracks to the frame itself. Shop said I shouldnt worry about it. Its an eye sore though

Be careful when you put it in your rack. Luckily, it doesn't look too bad though. Took me a little bit to figure out exactly what you were talking about.

Keep a eye on it. You should find some paint that matches just to keep UV off of it. I would be sick..... I almost got a Super Six till my husband had a cow when I told him the price for a new one.

I figured it wasnt a big deal. I'm still pretty upset actually because I dont know what caused it.

I dont have a trunk rack. It it gets transported it's on a roof rack so that section never touches.

Pray tell, why?

Otherwise file down the edges carefully with a small, fine, flat file, and finish it with matching nail polish. I suggest filing it because you will snag it on something eventually, and it's not structural.

The fact you carry an expensive bike on a roof rack leaves it open to all sorts of damage from debris thrown up by other vehicles. Our bikes never travel outside the vehicle -- and in fact, we bought the vehicle with carrying bikes inside as one of our criteria.

Do what he would have done....buy it and put it in the garage. When he finally sees it, you say, "that old thing? I've had that for months..."
