Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wow, just wow!

I searched and didn't find anything in BF. The link below is to a sample of 360 degree video footage of a race. It isn't very long but it's a cool demonstration of awesome technology. Being able to rotate the view adds a whole new dimension to watching a race.

So I'm watching the video and my five year old son walks up...

Him: What's that?
Me: It's a bike race.
Him: Why are there cars?
Me: The cars are there to help.
Him: So if they get too tired, they get in a car?

I am not sure he has a future in competitive cycling.

Very cool from a technology standpoint, but I'm not sure it will add much to the race coverage.

would be really cool if they had it on a select number of riders, like nascar in race cams... then again this 3D camera thing prob weighs like 75 pounds haha

At first I was just staring at the video, didn't bother to translate or read your post fully.

After 20 secs I thought, this can't be right.. so I did a click & drag..

WOW! Just WOW!! Thanks for sharing!

Hmmm - this has been around in still photography for a couple of years. Interesting to see it applied to video but it makes sense.

Agree with the guy above that says interesting from a technology standpoint. Pretty much worthless from a racing standpoint to me. I ended up doing one full 360 and then basically just stared dead ahead for the entirety.

I'm using Chrome as a browser. It asked me if I
wanted the Dutch website translated to English,
I pressed yes and here's what I got:

"A big week for the Tour of Flanders we drove in a special 360-degree camera into another spring classic: Tour of Flanders. This camera has the strong property that he films it all. For you to own cameraman to play and whenever a new framework to make."

My thoughts exactly
