Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In need of a good cheap road bike!!!

Hi, I'm 13. I have found my road bike frame has cracked and is unusable. I'm in desperate need of a bike. my budget is $0-$500. My frame size is 54cm. If you cannot find a bike or a frame, Does anyone know where i can get my frame repaired??

Thank you,
Harrison

Your best bet at that price range is to browse craigslist. Where are you located? Since I live in Los Angeles, there are tons of welding shops in the San Fernando Valley leftover from the aerospace boom. Depending on where the crack is (can you post a pic?), it might be able to be repaired by someone like that.

You should really tell us what bike you have and how you ride it. One option would be one of the $100 Nashbar frames, but if your fork/seat post/fd clamp don't fit then it may not be all that cost effective.

If you have an old or cheap bike then a $500 craigslist bike may be a blessing.
