Greenville SC ride
Gonna be in Greenville next month and would like to take bike and get in a weekend ride
early in morning possibly doing part of the route the pro race covers. Would probably get 30 or so miles. Any suggestions?

That's a good route and is ridden a lot by the cyclists in the area so the traffic is very used to seeing cyclists. We have a bike path now that will take you all the way to the base of Paris Mtn where you will probably see me riding up and down over and over.
On Tuesdays there is racing at the Donaldson Center just south of town (not sure if you're here during the week). There's groups no matter what speed you are, probably 250+ people show up every Tuesday.
If you have time to venture, go check out Caesars Head climb. 6.4 miles and just an awesome climb. . .if I'm not on paris, I'm on Caesars Head.
Oh, and prepare yourself for wanting to move here.

Don't move here. It's a terrible red-necky place with bad weather, bumpkin politicians, no good restaurants, and swarms of carpetbaggers movin in....just sayin.

There is a group ride that leaves saturday morning at 8:00 from carolina triathlon in downtown Greenville. It is about 25 miles and goes over paris mountain which is the big climb in the usa pro race. Pace is usually c+ 15-16 with no one left behind and a regroup at the top of the climb. They will often have a faster group too if the fast guys show up.
