Trek Madone 6.9 SSL "Plata Negra"

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trek Madone 6.9 SSL "Plata Negra"

Chaps,

I have the chance to get my hands on one of these frames (complete with the XXL forks) for £1200. Do any of you guys have experience of this frame and do you think I should jump at that price?

It's the same frame which Lance Armstrong rode in the 2007 TdF.

Thanks for any input.

Ben

Okay I made a mistake with the dates... I don't really follow LA all that much; prefer the clean, European riders.

Thanks for the input guys. I have been looking at new frameset prices and I can get my hands on something just as light, for a few quid more and with a warranty.

I couldn't resist.

Although there are some clean, European riders to be fair...

We've had one sitting on the showroom floor for years with no buyers because it's the stiffest, most uncomfortable ride pretty much anyone has tried.
