Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Internal Routing question - Front Der.

So far i've owned frames with two different approaches to internal routing.
My BMC had stops for regular barrel adjusters, so that was no problem.

My Felt routes the cable housing all the way through the frame, so for the front der you'd need an inline barrel adjuster. I didn't build it this way - i just adjusted it by hand and it shifts fine. it was just a major pain to get the tension right.

i've also heard that inline barrel adjusters suck and lose their position often.

my new cervelo frameset will not have room for regular barrel adjusters either.

so, the question is - would you build it with an inline barrel adjuster or is there a trick to getting the FD tension right without one?
