Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hate ketchup. Yes that would ruin my ride too. However, it did give me the mental picture of Chris Farley in "Tommy Boy" slurping ketchup from the packet.

Calories, salt. I don't see an issue. Get a mayo packet and you have protein too.

Wait, wait. He might be right. Smash said ketchup pack against your head, then you're guaranteed to see a paramedic in an ambulance. Adrenaline shot to the guad+IV drip for a few minutes equates to instant legs again.

Now to try picante sauce!

The best use I ever had for ketchup packets is to stomp on them from the upper deck at Memorial Stadium (Baltimore reference, since ticktockpedal is in Baltimore) when I was a kid.

I think you're being a little facetious, but in case anyone actually believes you. You'd have to eat about 13 packets an hour, which I doubt most people would really be able to stomach. Part of on the bike nutrition is sustainable nutrition, packets of ketchup are not this. I really hope no one tries this...

The OP must write copy for the ads in the back of the free Sunday newspaper supplements.

Here's the original poor man's gel pack:

In addition the packaging is entirely bio-degradeable.

Me thinks Mother Nature's candy like Banana's is much better than any chemical treated Gel pack. OP, get your head check, condiments as a Gel Pack???

how man (few) calories are actually in a packet of ketchup. If they were giant packs, it might actually work. As mentioned in another reply, you'd have to consume them nonstop...
