What would I need to do? How could I get this done? What would be an average cost?
Completely new to this, and I need a bit of info.

Throw the stick!!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you just get the K2 not too long ago? If so I say just ride it until you are ready for a new bike.

Aluminum.
I wouldn't bother with this one. I'm just curious about doing it after hearing people here taking it up.
Sorry if I mislead you.

what do you mean revamp? like repaint the whole thing? if the paint is still pretty decent, try touching it up and waxing it first. if you do decide to take the plunge, one color plus a clear coat usually will run around 200 bucks. try the wax route first, you would be really surprised what a well detailed frame looks like with a little elbow grease.

Since your bike is metal, you can get it powder coated quite cheaply. I had a frame done for $120. It was a simple one color job but I'm happy with the result. Powder coating is better than paint for just about every reason except it can't do fine details very well. That and it won't work on carbon.
Just google powder coating in your area. They probably specialize in car exhausts or something, but they'll do a frame I'm sure.
