Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, but don't let Andy Schleck try to wash a car with a SRAM bucket.
It'd probably slip out of his hands.

You should've gone to a Catholic LBS...we have Holy Water (its cross compatible with any manufacturer).

So dude, I don't think anyone has directly answered you yet, but DO NOT take the housing off. It's the right length. Just replace the cable and tighten it. Not sure how you ended up with frayed cables, but it's not safe. Oh and just because you read that Sheldon Brown article, don't go reversing which lever controls which brake. That's way advanced. Just get it put back together and get out and riding on it.

My guess is not much. The mail doesn't run today, so there is little chance a tool from amazon will arrive.

You're right...I shouldn't slam SRAM so hard.
Schleck f'd up a shift on a Shimano Dura-Ace equipped bike this year and lost a minute on a TT run.
So in this case, it either case, it definitely IS the engine.

Something else that's great about this thread is the "newer" newbs coming in here and "gettin' some" at OP's expense!

I'm really hoping Andy gets his shot this year. Hopefully he's learned how to shift, and how not to break chains. Although I'm thinking the OP should just watch Andy videos. He'll learn how not to shift/cross chain. What to do if he drops a chain. How to get pissed if someone attacks and he had a mechanical.

Nah, really. I like Andy. Good guy.

well what a day, to say the least. went about 20 miles or so. came back because the weather looked bad, but then it got nice again. i think i'm gonna jog like 2 miles now just to get into that tri mood. anyways, i just wanted to post what happened today. i went down to speedwell, the place where they train, and used the porta potty. i parked my bike against it, and the door slam made it fall i guess. picked it up and rode off to find the right bar has been bent. i know it's able to fix it with a bolt i think. but anyways on the ride home, i hit a big downhill and i was in like the lowest gear and all my weight went right to the top of the saddle. it was the worst one ever. like all the weight on my left side in the middle of my body. if you get the drift. almost couldn't make it home it was that bad, i thought it was bleeding. but all is good and now it's feeling better. but that's my day, anyone top that?

See dude, this is where your Hall of Fame worthy trolling is starting to crack. You're working the crowds too hard. Please go back to the more subtle approach and we'll all go back to pretending you're real.
