Against my better judgement, I'll offer my newbie post on this topic... Having considered the question myself, I plotted the data from rouesartisanales.com into a spreadsheet and fitted a simple 2nd order polynomial regression line to the data (rim depth vs drag). It shows that rim depth, taken by itself, accounts for 70.6% of the variability in drag observed among the wheels tested. Looking at the way the points plot out, you can then simply see that most of the rest of the variability is due to spoke count (i.e. wheels with greater N of spokes have slightly higher drag, those with lower spoke count, lower drag, for a given rim depth). 70% of course isn't like a 'open and shut case' but you can reasonably conclude that the greater the rim depth, the more 'aero' the wheel, spoke count notwithstanding. So, spoke count taken by itself accounts for 20% of the variability in wheel drag, excluding all other factors, and again, only for those wheels tested by rouesartisanales.com. Draw your own conclusions! I don't own Soul or any other aero wheel (yet) for what its worth.

Is a dickbag a bag designated for dicks or any bag with dicks in it?

Why did I get 2.0 rims and have just ordered c6.0s?
I got the 2.0s because, at that price range, I could not find something that was lighter. I can't climb, so every gram counts when it comes down to lugging my 155lbs fat ass up different bay area climbs. Undoubtedly, some issues arise when buying from a foreign company/builder. However, I was willing to assume them and view them as reasonable risk.
So far, I've not had an issue. The wheels have proven to be very durable and perform better than I could have anticipated.
If i need another set of aluminum clinches, the 2.0s would be it from now on (unless I do a custom build). They are light, out-roll other deeper wheels i've tried and are reasonably priced.
In other words, to me, they are simply a great bang for the buck. I could not be happier.
Why am i getting the C6s? I've done a few triathlons and have found them to be my new passion. I enjoy cycling, but I enjoy the challenge of combining all 3 sports. Currently, I have to borrow deep wheels and/or disc covers every time I compete. I have a couple more tris lined up and a half iron man down in South America in 6 months.
To me, the C6s are a great compromise in price, weight and -although not proven aerodynamics as you define it- reasonable belief that they would be faster than the 2.0s and close enough other popular deep wheels. I'm not expecting them to outperform the new zipp 404s, just that they- based on common generalizations- perform better than what I currently have.
If the 2.0s are any indication of what is to come, I am certain I will be pleased.
Would I pay an additional $1k-1.5k for wheels that had "testing" figures proving they are the "fastest" under certain conditions? Maybe if i had a lot of disposable income. As a grad student, that is not the case.
Am I a sucker? Perhaps. but I will be a sucker with $1k left in my pocket and a significant improvement over my current set up... Most importantly, I will stop annoying my dear friends two weeks before every competition.
Cliffs: Why did i buy Soul wheels, because to me they are worth it!

I always say one can judge anything by who speaks well and ill of that thing.
If someone with a lot more experience than me likes something and has actual hands on experience
with that product and others with similar experience feel the same about that product,
then I will give them more credit that they know what they are talking about.
If someone who just got off of a GMC Denali told me how great a Schwinn Prelude was,
knowing what I know today, I'd believe that for "them" that bike is great.
If someone who raced told me that Trek makes good bikes and they
road say a Cervelo or a Dogma, then I'd give them more credibility.
It's all relative.

This thread has greatly delivered.
Reasons for my soul Mavic Ksryium Elite purchase:
- price
- lighter than my old wheelset
- boxed rim color scheme matched my CAAD9 which makes me look cool
- it was an upgrade
- it was the winter so i felt like buying something
Benefits derived from the purchase:
- i suddenly felt more sexier. somedays at stop lights waiting for a green, i would find myself looking down at my soul Ksyriums, and further catch myself purring and rubbing the top tube.
- they are better than my old wheelset.

This thread delivered a whole lot in a day and change. WOW
The local biznizmen (Psimet, Boyd, & Bdop) deliver thoughtfulness in spades (as always).
dickbag... I'll add that to my usage of the phrase "can I say ass?" as certified canonical BF lexicon
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Welcome to the board, feel free to jump in on the road racing forum as well, we like your kind over there.

Agreed on bumpstop... That's the way to enter a forum.
As far as wheels are concerned, unless you're sponsored buy what you can afford, be happy and use it.
