Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What you don't see is the homeless guy sleeping on the bench,
and the other cyclist whizzing in the bush,

Puget Sound, Seattle

More of a typical day here in Seattle.
This is why all my bikes have fenders.

I often ride Rt 77 & Cottage Road, but that banking turn just before Fort Williams park can be a scary one when a porsche goes so fast and cuts you so close.

The corner with the small post office? I've never had an incident there. Although I'm always concerned there will be someone in the breakdown lane. I'm usually more concerned with the narrow road to the Fort.. that lower parking lot entrance is so narrow now.. I've had a number of absent minded drivers almost clean me out. A couple times on my motorcycle too... i definitely cover the breaks big time and expect to have to use them. Keep the rubber side down, maybe I'll see you out there.

it's barely noticeable but behind those trees is the Missouri River, St Charles side. the Katy trail is small gravel and stretches for a few hundred miles i think. sucks for a road bike though. it's all paved to get there from the St Louis County side.

My wife and I spent 3 years in Coral Springs - loved visiting the waterfront and dining @ the Aruba Cafe on the ocean - thanks for the memories.
