Photos of your bike next to % grade signs

Anyone else like to take pics of their bike at the top of a climb, especially if it has a percent grade sign? Here's mine. I only have 2 of these with my bike next to the sign, so I'll take some more pics this summer.

Prospectors Grade in Coloma, CA. 2.6 mile climb, max grade 16%.

Bowman Road near Auburn, CA. Short steep painful one with a max grade of 13%. This is my profile pic.

That looks like a climb I've just GOT to do when I lose more weight! Is that Sonora Pass? That sign looks familiar. I thought I saw it posted here a while back.

Screw the climb; I want a bike with the handling to do the descent without touching the brakes.

Wow. I haven't been over the Clyde/Athena forum in a while but I remember you. Congrats on the weight loss! How long did that take you?

Thanks. Just over a year. I started climbing again last May at 214 pounds. I weighed myself after yesterday's ride and I was 146.8, even though I drank plenty of water during the ride. We'll see if it stays that low later on this morning. I'm doing more climbing today before and after watching (and recording) the Nevada City Classic, so maybe I'll lose a couple pounds this week.

Here's some new ones from last Saturday's ride. I took my Dahon Speed D7 7-speed folding bike because I drove a rental vehicle to the mountains and it's a PITA to put a full-size road bike in a typical sedan.

Top of the Carson Valley side of Kingsbury Grade. I haven't climbed this yet, but I definitely will when I bring my road bike up there.

I was about to say that that's 200 %, but thinking about it, I realize such a grade cannot be expressed as a percentage.

Actually, Agave's slope would be ∞%, if you subscribe to the idea that 1/0=∞.

Always searching for Lotus literature and memorabilia for use at www.VintageLOTUSbicycles.com, can you help?

Only if you measure in terms of height gained per horizontal distance travelled. If you measure height gained per road distance travelled 100% is vertical.
