Any opinions on a Fuji League (2005-ish)?

05 Fuji League vs. 87 Schwinn World Sport
I've come across what I think to be a fair deal on a Fuji League, around a 2005 model from what I can tell, supposedly only ridden once... looks to be pretty mint, I'm going to look at it tomorrow. I'm looking to upgrade from my 25 year old Schwinn World Sport. I've got practically no budget, but I've got the same amount invested in the Schwinn as I would have to spend on the Fuji, and I could probably make a profit off selling the Schwinn.
Anyone have opinions on this model or have owned one in the past? It seems pretty baseline from what I've read, steel frame with basic Shimano components and downtube shifters. I ride a ~10mi daily commute and do some longer weekend recreational rides (~30mi).
Trying to weigh my options here... do I trade this:
for this:
Give me your input... and not "both of those bikes suck, buy ____". I'm workin with what I got here, it might not be much compared to some of the bikes I see here, but I can't justify spending big on a bike right now. Any input or experience with these bikes is appreciated.

Unless there is something wrong with the Schwinn, I would just stick with it over the Fuji. The Fuji was a low-end bike. Absolutely nothing special about. Your Schwinn looks to be well kept based on the picture. I wouldn't call the Fuji an upgrade over your Schwinn. My advice would be to keep saving up your money until you are ready to hear "both of those bikes suck, buy ____" and then you can go and buy "______".

I do have a Fuji model year 2002. It's a Finest. I love it. But want something lighter (it's chromaloy).
However I dont plan on getting rid of the Fuji..plan on keeping it as a training bike...and when I get my indoor trainer that Fuji is going on it as well
My 2 cents.
BTW your schwinn looks like a pretty nice bike. Why trade it?

After thinking today I'm gonna keep the Schwinn, I might upgrade to a new seat and some more comfortable drops to update it a bit. I have put a lot of hours into maintaining and polishing this bike, and it is the one that got me into road cycling...
Honestly I'm not sure if I would/could sell it, even if it is a 25 year old budget road bike. I'm not big on the red paint, so I might look into powdercoating it soon. Maybe all it needs is an update rather than a replacement.
Thanks for saying what I knew all along. Maybe when I'm in Italy next year I'll be able to bring a nice new ride back with me...
