My Sub 170 pound body, no lightweight carbon or Ti parts (No Photos)
5' 11" frame size. Got it down from 185 to 170 by riding up grades, not up grading parts. Hope to lower it to 165 pounds by summer end by adding 1600 miles to my odometer.
Tell me again why I should spend a few thousand to go from a 17 pound bike to a 15 pound bike?

I never understood why you had to be some ideal godly target weight to "deserve" a nice bike. It doesn't have to be one or the other, you can do both at the same time can't you? Or is that 41 blasphemy?

I installed a titanium plate in my collarbone, with no noticeable reduction in weight or increase in performance

because carbon upgrade parts and components (1) are expensive; (2) look cool; and (3) of course everyone knows they make you lots faster.........

I like beer too much to engage in human weight wheenieism. I usually try to keep better track of my body fat percentage instead of my weight anyway by keeping it around 17% or so. I'll drop it down to 12 to 14 when cyclocross season comes around. Got down to 6% back in high school, but that was 20 years ago.

I've lost 15lb in the last 3 months AND bought a sweet new bike. What's your point?

If they have Universal Sports too, I'd go.
I was 6'3" 165 lbs. when I got into this stupid sport and all I have to show for it is that I'm a failure and a quitter when it comes to smoking and drinking.
(My version of a backhanded self-righteous compliment to myself)
P.S. My bike weighs 21 lbs. I don't know how I do it. Really.
