Helmet with less wind noise?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Helmet with less wind noise?

Are any helmets markedly quietier than others? I have a Bell Protos (~$30) and it seems that I hear a lot more wind noise than I recall from the 20 year old Bell touring helmet that I threw out. I ride early in the morning and wouldn't mind hearing the birds; instead all that I hear is whoooooosh. I know that more expensive helmets have more vents -- are they noticably quieter too?

I usually do not ride fast enough to hear "whoooosh". Maybe I can ugrade to your faster helmet.

No, in fact they seem to make more noise cause all those vents cause turbulence.
Try these: https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycling/73936-wind-deflectors-ear.html

the more ventilated your helmet is, the more noise you will get. It's all that wind whooshing around through the vents creating turbulence noise.

Try duct tape like they put on the grills of the Nascar cars. Need more ventilation on a ride - just rip one off.
