Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It can if the hub is compatible with your cassette - i.e. shimano/Sram cassette with shimano hub.

Alright thanks! I have what I think is a pretty generic "sun race" cassette, so would you happen to know if that is compatible with a shimano hub? I happen to be looking at a shimano wheelset actually.

Sunrace is Shimano compatible. If you are thinking Dura Ace wheels, be careful as I believe there they only take the 10 speed. All other level Shimano wheels should be fine.

Depends on your 9 speed group and the 10 speed freehub body.

If it's a dura ace or campy specific freehub, you might have compatibility problems.
