Super sore gooch, do I need a new seat?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Super sore gooch, do I need a new seat?

Sorry for the slang, but it's the easiest way to describe it. I did a 100 mile ride yesterday with a lot of climbing, I ended up in the saddle for about 7.5 hours. My gooch was incredibly sore, I actually had to walk around for a bit before I could sit in the car for the 3 hour ride home. Was I simply in the saddle too long, is it normal to have a REALLY sore gooch?

I believe that "Gooch" is the technical term for "Taint".

As per Urban Dictionary

1. Gooch, A.K.A. "grundle" is the area that attaches ones sac to ones ass-hole.
When i play sports, i have to powder my gooch to prevent extreme amounts of irritating sweat.

2. area between nuts and ass hole. guy cooch = gooch
i have cancer of the gooch

3. Skin between you nutsack and *******
I have a huge gooch.
Dude, stop playin with your gooch.
I whacked it for 3 hours last night, and my gooch hurts like a *****.

4. The piece of skin connecting the scrotum and testes to the poop chute. The gooch is also attached to the bacon strip which is located directly on the undercarriage of the testes.
I think i need to get deodorant for my gooch, it always sweats profusley, I think the gooch glands are swollen.

5. Noun: Gooch - The tender area that resides between the ball sack and the Anal cavity
Example: Henry was loading a couch into a truck and slipped and cracked his gooch. He than cried out "Ouch! I cracked My gooch!"
When im a bad boy my mama bites my gooch

6. the area between the male genitals and the anus
let me lick your gooch clean, pappa.

This Gooch is kind of cute and I love her Garfunkel and Oates act as seen on Leno several times.

I'm not sure why she is causing you pain though.

Wow, just wow. I think any one of the above 6 would have been sufficient , but thanks for the info.
OP, A saddle that fits, and that is a subject of at least a thousand threads, will solve your problem.

No, I missed the class on gooch, taint whatever. I made up for it on my colorectal surgery rotation. Gooch is a new slang for me. So at least I can say I learned something on BF.

For the OP, sounds like your saddle did let you down. I did 100 miles myself last weekend and the last 30 or so were not fun. I keep trying different saddles but always seem to come back to my Brooks. I have a goal of doing at least 50 miles a day for this long 4 day weekend and once again my Brooks saddle is saving my butt, ... literally! Have tried over a dozen "modern" style saddles and for me nothing comes close to the Brooks although I don't find them perfect. I have to run my Brooks nose up to fight the sliding forward feeling and then that gets uncomfortable after being in the drops for awhile. My suggestion is to find a local shop that will give you loaner saddles and keep hunting until you find one that works for you. Once you do, buy more than one of them. The perfect saddle is a goal many of us still aspire to reach.

I went for a 100 mile ride yesterday and my gooch did not hurt at all. It could be your saddle, it could be that you need a bike fit or perhaps your gooch is just not used to so many hours on the bike.

Look for a more comfortable saddle, There are more than a few posts on this subject to peruse. I'm currently happy with Brooks and no cut out. My wife likes the cut out on her Selle Anatomica.

I will tell you a somewhat amusing story, had an intern and sent him to evaluate a new consult with rectal bleeding. Came back very excited with the news that the patient had a rectal mass, which being the good intern that he was, he biopsied. Four days later the result came back- he had biopsied the cervix. Oops, wrong hole, guess he missed that day in anatomy.

So to clarify, Gooch is the male specific term for taint. Taint can be used for either gender. To close the loop is there a female specific term for taint?
