Opinion on specialized borough xc
Ok looking at getting a set of these for road work. I have to ride over a 1/4 mile gravel road to get to the road for my daily ride. these seem a tad more rugged than slicks. Im afraid slicks would be torn up right away riding on gravel. Anyone have any experience with these tires?

FREEROAD PERFORMANCE
Big brother to the Borough CX, the Borough XC has a wider and smoother center section that rolls fast on paved or dirt roads. Adding larger shoulder knobs to the trusted Borough tire also allows better performance off-road.

26" x 1.75 approx. weight 450g, PSI: 50-85*

I'm using the borough CX @ 700x32 on my 'cross bike. I keep them @ 90ish psi and they do just fine (for me) on the road. I've also ran them thru some wet grass & dirt trails w/ no issues to speak of.
I suspect they'll be fine from other reviews of them I ran across when researching the cx. For my mtb, though, I have Conti Travel Contacts @ 26x1.75 that I really like. Going from knobbies to the conti's I gained about ~3mph avg.

I've been fine with Borough CX Armadillo Eliltes on my commuter bike (and for a few years, my cross bike) on pavement and crushed limestone trails. They roll fine on pavement and handle the fine gravel just fine.
The only thing that would steer me away from the XC is the lack of an Armadillo variant. The Borough CX Pro tires that were stock on my TriCross punctured fairly easily.

Thinking about putting them on my hardrock for the road. Just worried about the 1/4 mile stretch of gravel road i have to travel 2 times to get to the road. Figure that would tear up slicks. Do you think the borough xc will be the right tire? Gotta mention that im 260 pounds so i dont know if that makes a difference on slicks or not. Thanks for the replies.

I've had no issues taking my 'cross bike w/ Borough CX Armadillo Elite tires on all sorts of terrain as of yet and they appear to be holding up quite well. However, I've only got ~300 miles on them w/ maybe 20 of those being off of paved surfaces.
As I stated above on my MTB I use Conti Travel Contacts and have taken them on all sorts of surfaces (road, gravel, etc). They are puncture resistant and have held up just fine w/ only one flat due to a rather large goat-head thorn.
