New backup bike build - Fuji SL1

Somehow I have managed to get back one of a frameset from my former life, a Fuji SL1. It is in good condition but it was nasty when I got it. I have never seen so much salt on a bike, all of the screws were white. The headset was even nasty. I spent an hour or two cleaning it up and it looks like it is going to turn into a nice backup bike once I finish building it up.

I am not planning on building it up as a weight weenie bike but it should still be relatively light for a budget build.

    Frame weight - 880 grams.

    Fork weight - 370 grams.
I may be fat but I'm slow enough to make up for it.

My buddy that I sold it to was getting a new frameset so I bought this one and built up his new bike for him.

Here it is in it's former life when I owned it. This one was my training bike.

Here is a picture of the other SL1 that I had, my buddy's dad bought it from me. This one weighed in at 14.2 pounds.

Here they are together, to prove that there really are two of them.

Good stuff. I love those SL1 frames.

I haven't forgotten about this. It's just coming together a little slow, as usual.

I just received some new brakes for it, went with some Planet-X's instead of the 105's that I was planning on using.

They are just a little lighter than the 105's.

I've been lazy so it has been on hold. I'm not in much of a rush since it is just a back up.
