Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Child trailer/carrier that's ok for steep climbs (and descents)

Any recommendations/experience with a child trailer that would work well even for steep climbs and descents? (I would obviously be taking the descents at a slow speed - no bombing on those.) I don't mind the workout on the climbs, and in fact, that's part of the point of getting one of these.

Climbs from 10-21% in my immediate vicinity.

I'm sure a Burley would be fine. I used a Winchester (don't think these are made anymore) for all three of my boys - solid build and lasted many years - took it on and off road on those grades.

We have the Chariot Cougar and I'm sure it would do great assuming you control your speed going down. My LBS who is a Burley dealer and NOT a Chariot dealer advised me to buy the Chariot from another shop in town when I was asking about trailers.

( ^^^ beat me to it ^^^ )

As long as you control the speed on the way down any chariot should be fine. I have to ride both brakes going downhill (mostly rollers where I live) to keep the chariot from "pushing" too hard on the bike from behind. That can seriously mess up your balance. For the record I have a Schwinn re-branded InStep made for two.
