Giant TCR Owners Thread
Post pics, ratings, and reviews of your Giant TCR Road bikes in all their glory!
Thinking about purchasing one to replace my '09 Fuji Team and thinking that a thread dedicated to the bikes will help me make my decision. Looking at the TCR Composite but also the Advanced 2. Hoping to see a few pictured! -Marcos |
This is the wrong forum. If you want Cervelo and Cannondale pics galore though this is the place.

2011 TCR Composite Shimano 105's (I added 105 brakes) Williams System 30's I love it. There's a lot of Giant riders here, they just drowned out by the Cannondale/Cervelo guys. |
Beautiful bike! Thinking of the exact model. I have a buddy who rides one but he's of the impression that it's a tad bit heavy and is a bit uncomfortable and sluggish on rough roads. Thoughts? I'm a fan of the bike but his objections are making me question that.

So no one on here rides Giant? Why not? Seem to be about the best you can do in terms of value from what I can tell.

My boss has a... 2006 TCR Advanced I believe. First road bike I ever rode. He let me borrow it for a few weeks since he didn't really ride it back in '08, which lead to me buying my first Tarmac, then my new Tarmac after the first one died. I can say that the older TCR advanced was STIFF. Lightish and stiff. Beat me up a lot on most road's. That being said, this was 5 (now almost 6) model years ago, and the Tarmac I bought was the lowest level frame on '08, and I read that it was less stiff than the S-Works stuff, so me thinking the Tarmc was more comfortable could actually have been my newness to what to look for in a road frame.
All that to say, my boss is happy with his TCR, and even though he has a LOT of money, and cycling is his only main hobby, he still hasn't upgraded to a newer bike. |
One thing you can try though without changing the entire bike is to put 700x25 tires instead of 23's. You wouldn't think it would make much of a difference but it really does on crap roads.

I can't speak to any sluggishness as this is the only decent road bike I've owned. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary though. Rides nice to me. |

I started out with a 2009 TCR Alliance 1 two years ago and purchased a 2010 TCR Advanced SL 3 (ultegra) last summer. The TCR Advanced SL is almost too much bike for me but I'm loving it. The one thing I noticed is that it's completely stable at high speed descents. Certainly is plenty stiff for me.

Love mine too. TCR Advanced SL. I built it up with Red Shifters, Force everything else, Kysirum SL Premiums, Easton EC90 SLX carbon bars, EA90 stem, Aliante saddle. 15.50 lbs complete, photo up shortly. Not a bad ride on 23's either. Lp

I bought mine last year and like it enough. I started racing this season and bought a bike with Srram and prefer it over Shimano. This year I am hopen to upgrade to Red, waiting to see what frame I will end up with. Might stick with this one although if I did it all over I would have sized down.
