"Twilight Cycling" Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway
I managed to go to the event and actually rode my bike on the track!! All I got to say is that was one of the most thrilling bike rides I ever been on. Especially on the corkscrew!

as fun as that sounds (and believe me, it sounds fun!!), I can't imagine going thru the corkscrew without a 150hp racebike shod with michelin race slicks underneath me...

haha you are so right, especially going up the hill towards the corkscrew was killer!! I didn't think that hill would be so tiresome!!

MotoGP has Bridgestone spec tires, WorldSBK has Pirelli, and AMA has Dunlop. Are they paying good contingency money at the club level? (I abandoned them in 2005 in favor of Bridgestone myself, because the money was better)The track day looks fun, bicycle or motorcycle - it's a great place nonetheless. Thanks for sharing, OP.

With cars on it, the corkscrew can look small and tight...the bikes make it look huge and wide!

Best race track evar!!

Chases Dogs for Sport
I've done Laguna Seca on a Kawasaki factory superbike (nearly 20 years ago now). At speed, on a superbike, it looks very narrow in places (like turn 6 and the corkscrew). Seems like a great track for a bicycle, though. Great criterium possibilities. And I would tend to agree -- the climb to the corkscrew is probably pretty tough.

Using the handy dandy MapMyRide site... The part leading up to the corkscrew is a Cat 5 climb with an average of 3.5% grade for 0.82 miles. 
That looks like great fun! My favorite racetrack! At least it was on GT3~ heh.

I want to get a geared bike and try out the track next time!! would be much better ride than my single speed.

I need to make my way over there for Twilight Racing looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully the corkscrew is a lot more fun on bike than it is in car. In a car, its kind of a boring turn, turn in hard -- unwind wheel -- ride straight down on the burm. T3, T5, T6, and Rainey Curve are much more interesting and challenging turns and the places where you can really lose a lot of time on.
