Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Worst Crap Gadget Ever

This has to be posted. The fact that it even exists is a credit to an idiot somewhere. As if that wasn't enough. They have to demo it on a bike with Dura Ace DI2. Really?!?

How is that a crap gadget? No different than reading while running on a treadmill. I used to do that all the time. Helps pass the time away.

Haha, This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen for a bike. I need to have it!

I'm hoping that the intent of this product is to be used while the bike is on a trainer? That's all we need is to have distracted bicycle riders to add to all the distracted automobile drivers.

I got one of these when I got my trainer, and I love it. I use it to read my school books while on the trainer, (I'm in high school) and it helps the ride go faster, and helps the reading easier. Not a crap gadget. At all.

If you can read you're not training hard enough.

That has merit for a trainer, but this would be considered worthless in the gadget dept. IMO

It's for trainer use. Hence the comment on 'stationary bikes' in the product description.

I'd never be able to use that because I'd drench it with sweat within 5 minutes, but most of the other folks I know who own trainers don't seem to have a big sweat problem and I'm sure more than a few would be able to put a book or a Kindle or even an Ipad on that thing while they ride.

I sweat so much on my trainer that I've corroded my bike from all the sweat.

Cardrivers are generally bad but many bikeriders aren't good or safe drivers either.
I often see schoolkids texting or calling and riding their bike whilst doing it.

It gets really good reviews:

Great Product--initally, my magazines and books kept blowing off on the downhills, but once I figured out how to attach them with binder clips, all was well. AND there is room for my cell phone and Walkman!
My commute passes in no time at all. Car driver's seem to love it too, with all their honking in appreciation. Would be great for centuries, too. I could imagine getting through War and Peace by the time I crossed the finish line.

Nice, a music stand that clamps on my handlebars...or is that really a drafting table?

Either way, it is certainly a must have.
