Cycling amputees forum?
I have been perusing "Wounded Warrior" and the "Amputees Across America" sites and don't see a forum in a quick glance. I am once again having some wear issues with my prosthesis and riding, what caused me to have to be off the bike for a year. I have just purchased a new bike looking towards ramping up my riding and my fitness level. I don't want to put myself into this situation again and have a wasted $2200 bike laying around.
I am having issues with the trimline and the medial tendon behind my knee. I had a "cycling specific" socket made at one point, but it didn't work out well for me. I would like to know what other BKA cyclists are doing regarding the trimline on the back to help aleviate this issue, while still being able to walk on and use the leg for regular activities. I am not in a position at this time to be able to afford having another cycling specific socket made...these things run about 8 grand to start, just for the socket. I have had issue with low trimlines in the past causing skin irritation and eruption. Let go, this stuff is crippling, and I just don't want to go there again, but giving up cycling again seems just as bad to me.

Not sure if it can help, but I happen to have seen this recently in another context.
https://www.mtb-amputee.com/
I wish I could be of more help.
(I note you are in GA, any chance you were the guy with one foot riding 3 states 3 mountains?)

mtb-amputee also doesn't seem to have a forum, and unfortunately most of the "email for questions" links are dead.
No, I was not that fellow. If I cannot get past this wear issue when riding over 15-20 miles I may never be, and I find that rather disconcerting.

This past weekend there was a woman riding on the organized century with only one leg - no prosthesis - just one leg. It was pretty impressive. She went right up a long CAT 5 hill at the 80 mile mark and passed several people walking their bikes.
Maybe the moderators here can open a sub-forum. I think you should put in a request.

Again, for other reasons, I seem to recall similar comments and questions in the comment thread to this article. Maybe posting on there can help? Wish I could help more.

Punkncat, did I see you at the Wilson 100? I saw somebody cruising in the main group with a prosthesis.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.

I bought a wheelset from an amputee; I could probably dig up his email address if you want.
