Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

To each his own. However, you sound very Darwinian, in which case you shouldn't be too concerned with hell.

So the OP says, "I don't want to help contribute to population numbers." But the OP is here now and is probably happy about his own life. Does the OP only want to inhibit future population or reduce what is here now? What about himself? Go figure.

Forget the charity rides. Go do the Tour de Doughnut. I know there's one in Houston, and one somewhere up north. You get credit for time and for doughnuts eaten, so you're promoting the major clogging of arteries and the general unhealthiness of the cycling population, which should fit right in with your thinking.

Everyone is entitled to his own opinion. The OP's reasoning is good as any to me.

I used to argue with pro-lifers by telling them that I think infanticide up until the child says its first word should be legalized. I really don't believe that, but saying it did a great job of making them stay far away from me.

The problem occurs when they try to put those opinions into actions that violate the rights of others. As far as I can tell, the OP isn't doing this, but your own statement seems to edge the border.

over population is not a result of the particularly safe world we live in and will not be affected by reducing illness and accidents. It will be affected by population control measures. The population got to where it is under the current conditions. which are far from great. One of the rides i do is to increase driver awareness of cyclists to reduce the numner of accidents - that would help you to enjoy your hobby. Carity is about making those people who are alive have a better more enjoyable life, population control is about reducing the number that are alive in the first place.

So tell me, how many kids do you have, or would you like to have. Zero is the correct answer for you

It is your opinion not to not help and that is fine. We all have the right to do as we please etc.

I would do them because I have seen the affects it has not only on a person, but a family. I hope they do find a cure for these problems we face and if they do find one with this money we raise.

Now I ask if you were to get cancer and would you turn down the chance to be cured because you are a despicable human?

Really? Study history and see how savage the world was with very low population numbers. I love you self hating liberals. You crack me up.
