Toupe 143 Users! What saddle do you use on your AM/XC MTB?
I'm looking to replace my MTB saddle (AM/XC) and I'm looking for something that is as comfortable as my Toupe 143 is for road. I understand that the position will be more upright so the saddle choice for MTB will be different. The current saddle is a Fizik Gobi and is a a world of pain.
I tried the Toupe and the padding is too thin and the shape catches shorts easily. I'm keen on trying the Phenom but I''m not sure if I want to try the 143 or the 155.
I'm curious to see what other Toupe users run on their MTBs. Please specify the width of your saddle if possible. Thanks!

Probably try the Phenom. I ride a Romin on my 29er but it is converted to road usage with 28c tires and solid fork.
While a bit more upright...don't turn your mtb into a cruiser riding position...get some weight on your hands. If you ride
the real rough stuff, get a dually. A bit more weight forward will feel better on your bum if you can stand the hand pressure helped
by a top level air fork. When I rode my 29er more off road, I rode with a Brooks B.17 which is another option albeit heavy.
Controlling seat pressure...I like hardtails...is a lot to do about technique...learn to ride with more weight on your pedals with a lower cadence than road riding. Also...running tubeless, lower pressure and fatter tires helps ride quality and saddle comfort markedly.

WTB Speed V. Nothing wrong with using a Toupe on a mountain bike, but I found the Speed V to be adequate as well as tougher.

Not a Toupe user (Selle San Marco SKN on each road bike)...but I also use a WTB Speed V and really like it. It is roughly in the middle of the two Specialized widths.

I've got a WTB Rocket V on my MTB. It has been down a few times in rocky areas and hasn't torn or even scuffed significantly. I ride a 143mm road saddle and this is narrower, but it works for me because I need to transition left-right a lot more on singletrack. Wider saddles on singletrack = no bueno.
I would probably go wider for XC riding though.
