any carbon cracks acceptable ?
Hello , I'm looking at a 4 year old Bianchi 928 and noticed a crack of about an inch and a half on the top tube. It looks like it is on the surface but it easy to see against the celeste. I'm going to go over the bike carefully to look for more . It rides fantastically , but I don't want to gamble on it . Thanks , frisky

No way.......It can be repaired but carbon failure is swift it just goes. I had the very same frame still do had crack and they replaced it for free.....4 yrs old I doubt it would be free but I bet you could exchange it at a shop for s discount many top notch carbon repairs shops in USA..........so if it is your size has nice stuff and cheap....know that you need to fix it.

What kind of warranty does Bianchi have on there carbon frames? If it's covered I'd just send it in.. But I wouldn't buy it knowing this..
I know my Raleigh carbon frames have a lifetime warranty and I recently put that to the test and ended up with a new frame.

If its a crack in the clear coat over the carbon its no big deal. But if it's into the carbon it's a problem.
There are places that will fix carbon frames, often inexpensively.

I could see the possibility of anyone buying used carbon...however, I have serious doubts about anyone actually buying a used condom, much less contemplating the thought
Cracked (insert frame material here) on any bike is never acceptable! Unless you are stripping it for parts. Really.
