I'd like to see someone do that with a real road bike.

They look like knobby 32-35 tires unless the poor quality video has my eyes fool.
I've drifted on an extremely wet surface before and I can tell you it still gives me the chills thinking what could have happened to me and my bike if I didn't adjust my balance. Descending at 55+ mph pales in comparison to that event.

I live on a steep hill and I very clearly remember when my son first learned how to slam on his brakes, as hard as he could, while flying down the hill. Good times!

That looks more like a controlled skid vs. drifting. When drifting the tires lose their traction, but are still turning which makes it much more difficult to do on a bicycle as opposed to a controlled skid. It's cool looking, but just doesn't seem to be the same as drifting.

BTW that pic a few replies up with the 2 asian guys... they are not moving, no way. They are surely laying in the road!

well if the asian guys are moving they are going to have some nasty burns on the outside of their knees by the looks of it. Probably just laying there.

It's not drifting at all, it's skidding.
A lot of people who make "drifting" videos and put them online don't know the difference between skidding, power-sliding and real, actual drifting.
Most of the legit videos you see drifting are GP motorcycle racers on tracks.
Like this one-
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9b...ke-drift_sport
Most of the first few scenes in the above video show it pretty well.
In particular, the second scene at the 13-second mark, shows both tires sliding sideways, and leaving skidmarks while going through the turn.
Most of the dolts who own rice-rockets do not have the nads to even attempt drifting.

That vid is one of the original ones that came out a few years ago. This one is later, but cooler with more technique. It's all skidding, but damn that's a lot of skill

That reminds me of when I kid and had my Fuji dirt bike. Anytime it rained and my parents were away, that meant the garage was empty and had a cool smooth concrete floor. A few friends and I would ride as fast as we could down the driveway, skid sideways on the bike and try to hit the wall as hard as we can. Awesome fun.

I feel like everyone has seen this video, but I feel it is the only way to drift a bike. Not really a good way to win a race, but you would look pretty cool (or maybe ridiculous) losing.

Donuts =/= drifting, either; the accuracy of the skid (the lines taken) and maintaining it around very very tight corners and long sweeping ones is impressive, though.

Uhh this is not impressive. It's a freaking skid. I was doing this on my bmx bike when I was 12 years old and fat.

Reminds me when i was 15 fearless... yes thats more like a controlled skidding, interesting because i never saw it in a bike that big. In my old bmx was peace of cake. Move the weight to the front, lock the rear wheel and go for it. If nobody noticed the guy weight is all in the front wheel not in the back so he controls the rear of the bike with his legs, either way the surface has to be wet or super slippery or wont work
Good skills tho.
