Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Amazing Story of Monique Van Der Vorst

This is an amazing story. The short version:
Medal winning paralympic handcyclist has a bad crash, and miraculously recovers the use of her legs in the aftermath. She then signs with pro team Rabobank.

Amazing, I would think that 10 years in a wheel chair would make your muscles atrophy beyond the point of recovery.

the human body is quite amazing isn't it?

studies have also shown that people who abuse their lungs by smoking for decades but then quit, eventually regain something like 99% of their lung capacity over just 2 years
