Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

sstone, you do know that you fudged up and didnt properly flatten the layers, one was moved over a bit before you flattened....(sorry, I'm a Photoshop guy)--does this mean there was a bit of selective darkening here and there to emphasize the musckles?

Albany criterium Mar 09, I crashed and broke this frame approximately 1 minute after this pic was shot.

I'm really hoping we encourage some ladies to post. 3 for 3 dudes.

I see what you are talking about. The image was shot by me looking at a mirrored image (hence the left hand drive train). What you are seeing is the bevel around the mirror.

Mirror bezel. Part of the reason his crank is on the left side.

hahaaa Mystery solved! Thats funny, because it really looked like a Photoshop mistake. Over the years, Ive done this countless times where when you are working on an image, you create "layers", copies of the shot on top of each other. This allows you to do retouching, adjusting, or whatever, and you can "click" or "unclick" a layer to see changes you have done--or toss a layer if your retouching was not successful. You get the drift.
What can happen is by mistake you "move" one of the layers slightly, and if you dont notice it, after "flattening" all the layers together into one, you can get an overlap of a small part of it JUST like what your mirror bevel did. This also explains the bit of floor and shadow seen to the far left--kinda funny that with my work eyes, I only looked at it with Photoshop tinted glasses so to speak.

my apologies to both your moral and muscular integrity...
