Is this carbon stem any good??? Ebay for $23.99 // fsa carbon stem.

So im only browsing for stems for my bike and i found this stem. its the right size
and carbon with TI hardware. claims to be light but its from china, japapan or one of those places.

Do you think its a good stem. any advise is welcomed.

That's a Gen-U-ine counterfeit FSA stem. I would assume that the strength and carbon is as fake as the labels on it.

Thats what i was thinking. I will pass. the last thing i need is to kill myself going down hill.
Thanks for input.

Too Good to be true. I wonder if they are made at the same factory and they are stolen from fsa.

Look at the real stem on the FSA website and you will quickly see the differences.
And report the item to Ebay

FSA is made in Taiwan. These items are coming from the mainland. So no, not the same factory. The factory that makes these stems would never risk selling extras on the side. They would loose all of their business from FSA in a heartbeat. That is one of the biggest lies propagated by these counterfeiters. They claim these items are made in the same factory, and there is no way that would happen.

May not be an FSA but there is nothing wrong with the piece. These are aluminum stems wrapped in a carbon sheet. You will be just fine. If you go with what people say here anything you have that is not Trek, Specialized, Cannondale or Giant someday will explode next to a school bus full of orphans driven by a nun.

I fully support non big-brand products, but fraud is a different story.

Or email the link to FSA.

No, there is plenty wrong with that stem.
I don't care what brand your stem is. But a fake is a fake.

I don't see the op asking if the stem is a fake or not. What I see is if it is any good.

How do you know this? If they're selling it as an FSA when it's not an FSA, do you really expect them to be honest and contentious enough to make a quality product that won't get someone killed?

Maybe they have an awesome R&D Dept. we don't know about.

And how do you know it is any good? Because the factory that made it said so? Like they said it was an FSA product? The OP obviously wasn't sure it was a real FSA stem and wanted to get verification. Why would anyone buy that crap stem if they know it's a fake? I'm sure it doesn't weigh the same as a FSA stem, or is as rigid.

I seem to remember you defending the factories that made the fake Pinarellos as well.

I think it's pretty obviously a bad idea to buy a critical piece of equipment from a company that is clearly dishonest.

Last week that seller had dozens of the same stem but with ritchey wcs logos. I thought it had to be fake, but I put it in my watch list out of curiosity since it was the size and everything I was looking for. The pictures actually changed to the FSA logos within a few days. So I looked through the listing again and noticed that the seller doesn't mention FSA or Ritchey...

This.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true.

Round my parts, that's known as "common sense".

I bought a "generic" no name carbon stem very similar to the one pictured above, aluminum covered in carbon, paid $20 for it from a seller on ebay. That was 3 years ago and 18K miles. I still use it on my main ride and it hasn't exploded yet.

Maybe...but I'd tempt the 'fake item' luck on things like 'carbon' bottle cages rather than stems/bars.
