Quick T.V. Question??

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Now that Versus has been bought out or taken over by NBC Sports does that mean a lot less Cycling on T.V. for 2012?

Whenever I do sufferfeests outside of my bedroom, I have an iPod mounted to my bars to ride to them. I think it's a really fun challenge on the track.

NBC Sports just had the Tour of Qatar on at 4:30. Granted they were highlights but its better than nothing.

If they can have a golf channel, why can't they have a cycling channel? there is more cycling than golf, if you take into account road, mountain, cross, track, and drunken tall bike jousting...

If that isn't the greatest thing ever created, I don't know what is.

I'm involved in the TV industry, and am personally trying to help bring more LIVE cycling to TV. However, there is far more advertising $$ in golf than cycling. The recap shows are far cheaper to produce than live, and without the big advertising money, live is a tough sell.

OK, there is one market I haven't gone after. I'll have to look into that. Wondering who the advertisers would be.
