2012 road bike color experiment
After noticing this with many 2012 releases, I asked a few of the reps about why racy yellow colors were chosen. many told me their versions of these bikes are a low-volume experiment. SRAM seems to be a common choice for these bikes as well.

Anyone else notice this? Thoughts? I think all these bikes are ugly, but could be beautiful with a nicer color.

yellow is the new black... especially when paired with the old black.

It turns out that yellow is even faster than red or black.

Red is eternal. However, yellow is my second choice.

I think they are all ugly too. Yellow should be kept to a minimum. For example the Trek District carbon livestrong for Lance is just enough.

Personally I dig them a lot more then "stealthed-out" bikes. Obnoxious colors are making a comeback IMO. Have you seen the new Northwave shoes? Could also have something to do with that one race in Europe with the yellow jersey.

Felt and Masi, yuck. Cannondale HOT, Specialized OK. The Scott..... it if didn't have the yellow on the tires, maybe. Personally, I don't like all black bikes. While I didn't really want white when I purchased my road bike, I came to realize that it improved my visibility. I think bike color preference is all over the map since it's a personal thing.

I saw an all black Madone in a LBS. I couldn't believe how good it looked. Everything was black and even the Trek logo was just raised letters. Even the wheels had minimum decals.

Last year I purchsed the walmart bike, GMC denali 700c. I just wanted an affordable bike to ride around and see if I wanted to ride on the roads. After spending a weekend hitting garage sales and thrift stores I had no luck on a used bike so I got this one. I liked the yellow as i figure i would be seen further away.
My main ride is on a US 190 70 mph speed zone. Ads to the rush a little.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/GMC-Denali-7...item3f131eee0d, 30 pounds of lead on wheels.
I did peel all the decals off so it is black and yellow with only a shimano decal on the chain stay side.
.Still have it for a spare bike, but I like my used Sab much more. The Sab is 19 pounds. red white and blue so it is bright also.

In person that Cannondale is really hot.
Not sure I would ride it myself, but sitting there on the bike racks, it stood out in a very good way.

In about '79 I had a Sears Free Spirit 10 speed (2 in the front, 5 in the back) that was bright yellow. I loved that bike, stem shifters and all. I think they look good, of course I'm a Steelers fan.

I like the Felt, but I have a F75 so I might be biased....it also has a Tron feel to it.
