The frame looks like it's a 2001 Trek 5200. Not sure what fork that is...
Edit: Nope, can't be. Didn't notice it was Alu not OCLV

There are a lot of trek 2000 and 1000 series bikes from 00-03 with USPS themed liveries. I poked around bikepedia for a while but got bored. Your turn.
And turn your seatpost around!

I did have the seatpost the right way round but I've been struggling with a comfortable riding position as my normal roadbike is a boardman team carbon and when I'm riding the trek I feel like I'm tipped too far forward short legs don't help either

I'm another rider with short legs and a very short thighbone who needs to turn a set back seat post around to get my knees near the pedal spindle. Even then I have my seat most of the way forward on the rails.

I have a friend who gets jumpy any time a glass is a couple of inches from the edge of a table. I always move the cups to the edge, and turn seat post backwards...
