Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What about Cinelli?

I'm looking at Cinelli carbon frames right now, particularly the Pro Estrada, but can't find nearly any information on it online. For all the reputation Cinelli has as a brand, why don't more people ride them?

Guys, first off : Cinelli's are BAD ASS bikes!( Ive always considered them to be the Holy Grail of bikes! You WANT to own one atleast once in your life!)Cinelli has a website(I *think* its cinelliusa.com) and check out some of the latest cycling mags for reviews on them(Barnes & Noble are great for this-I just saw a few that have reviewed them)Imo, theyre argueably thee top Italian bike & truth be told, Ive never heard anything bad about them. Im sure like any bike though, they arent 100% w/o problems, but Ive never heard of them having any serious issues. I hope you both find the info you seek. Let us know how you guys make out & please post pics if you do get one, if you dont mind? You can NEVER have too many Cinelli pics. Just my .002¢

Welcome to BF's by the way.

Dig their components. Don't know much about their frames other than from the hardcore hipsters I see riding their Cinelli fixies. Just once, I'd love to see them on a Specialized.

Anyway...Cinelli's are great bikes. I have an older (09)Cinelli Xperience frameset that I purchased from GVHBikes.com. I find that I use it more than my Wilier. I think they cater more to the FG/SS crowd if their Facebook page is any indication.

True, my Experience frame is made in China, but designed in Italy, using Italian Columbus tubes, and I love it! Quick, responsive, and looks great - and reasonably priced.

I remember seeing Cinelli and DeRosa frames some 20 + years ago at UC Berkeley and drooling at how beautiful they were. I just visited the Cinelli website and I have to say that the road frame looks just like a GIANT TCR frame. The paint job is certainly more distinguished than a TCR...but man, or man it looks the same. Bummer.

Other than bar tape, I don't think their stuff is what they used to be. I seem to remember that I heard they've licensed the brand to some Asian bike company, like Masi. But I can't be sure.

well they were a pretty innovative company throughout bike history, were kind of at a bottleneck right now... I dont think their road frames are anything special but they are still making some pretty interesting track frames.
