Black or Silver Thomson Masterpiece for Lynskey?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Black or Silver Thomson Masterpiece for Lynskey?

Just picked up a Lynskey Helix OS and wondering if I should go with a black or silver Seatpost. I had a regular Helix with the black Thomson and thought it looked good but wondering if the silver would look better. Thoughts or pictures?

I went to the Lynskey site and chose "Angola".............it was in English! That is some cheesy sh%t right there.

Anyway, do something totally CRAZY and go with silver.

ETA- I wish I could afford 2 Lynskeys, but I gave all my money to Kony 2012

In all seriousness though, you get a lot of bike for the money. I thought the Helix would cost twice what it does.
Carbon has put the wood to titanium, I am seeing used Ti frames going for peanuts around my home town.

Still not cheap. Looking at $3200 for a frame + Fork + Headset. Ends up being about $4000 for the Helix OS when it's all done.

My vote is black, but just my opinion.

I've been talking to Don and will probably end up ordering a Cooper or R230 in the next couple of weeks. Hoping I can pull it off!

What about a Lynskey seatpost? That's what I did, and got it for WAY less than a Thomson Masterpiece. Shoot 'em an email, they'll help you out.

Don is the man, helped me order an R230 for myself, another for my boss, as well as two other frames and various forks and seatposts. Good people.

Still a great deal though, a lot of hands on work and talent go into those frames.

The Lynskey post is nice. I had one when I first got my R330. Now I have a black Fizik Cyrano. I like black better, but either way it'll look good.

Regarding a Lynskey post, just make sure of any saddle setback you might need. The Lynskey post has zero setback.

The Lynskey seatpost is listed at $239 on their site. Thomson is $115.

Black. Match the stem too. The black color is good, understated contrast to the Ti.

I am assuming you like some "understatedness" in your design schemes of course.

Silver doesn't really "match" Ti. Go with black.

I went through this decision recently. (I have a Litespeed with a black Thompson, but will be building up a new Lynskey.) In my opinion I still think the best color seat tube on a bare titanium frame is either black or titanium.

If Lynskey starts making a setback post I will buy one. I think black will look good on it. It looked good on my other one. Seen here.

Except I won't make the mistake of using white tape again. NASTY if you ride at all. Going with brushed frame white decals this time Enve fork and thomson elite black.

that bike is pretty hot.

someone makes a gunmetal grey carbon seatpost and stem... maybe bontrager, or ritchey. but that might be no good, too matchy with the frame. definitely black tape.

Read what I said, ask them what they can do price-wise. Mine was less than the Thomson.
