Why don't I see many Fuji bikes around (in bike forum and on road)?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've got a Fuji Club Sport Le or something...

I got it in 2003, it is cro-mo and feels like I'm riding a jack hammer. Maybe I'm out-riding it...probably not. I know it doesn't fit me right, I feel stretched out when in the drops and it is just flat out uncomfy.

Fuji is a hugely under-estimated brand. They're actually a fairly big company, and an American one now. Fuji is the prime logo to Advanced Sports who also does Kestrel, Breezer, SE, and Terry. The quality control and design is fantastic on their real-bike prices, but they also make bikes at a price so low it couldn't have a profit without being half-a-step above a walmart bike (example: Newest 4.0, but don't think the 3.0-1.0 is bad). The Fuji logo could be on the bicycle version of a Lamborghini or a 1980's compact junkie.

Within the triathlon scene, Fuji and Kestrel both have a huge appreciation (look at the D-6 and 4000, WOW!). They've had more of a focus in that sport supporting athletes. But recently they've brought much attention to their name in the road side of things. Look at the recent re-design trend producing the SST, Altamira, Gran Fondo. I think it's great that they're making so many specialty models instead of the only one carbon roadie approach like Trek was doing with Madone. Notice Trek is moving away from that with the Domane?

My ride pictured in the link above (too big for posting here). Her name's "Raven" and she's pretty darn fast up and down hills!

They had a questionable period, now they are fielding bikes in the grand tours again, and winning. They could be on the rise, give it some more time. The markets where Performance markets them they have a tarnished image, in markets where regular LBS's are shelving them next to Giant, Cervelo, and Orbea... they have a different image among locals. Very odd.

Lots of Fuji's in the area. My Roubaix has treated me great, certainly not a holding me back, able to keep up with the big boys.

Granted nothing is stock anymore, somewhere around 8-10k the original bits started wearing out and full 5700/6700 and Ritchey parts now...
