Sounds like you should just avoid running. For fitness, you can go for fast walks, which avoids the impact, but can still be a good workout.
Cycling doesn't have the impact, so once you find shoes that fit, you should be fine.

This thread is stupid. If this is for real then you are a moran for not getting help. Nearly all professional athletes use orthotics of some sort or full on custom shoes. For you to not go that route is idiotic. Shame in orhtotics? Are you a professional foot model where it's taboo?
Do you know why running shoes come with such flimsy removable insoles? Because the manufacturers know that any serious is going to throw it in the trash and replace it with the correct one for their foot.
If this is a troll thread, which is what it sounds like, then it is moronic to no end. As the father of a child with foot issues this thread just pisses me off regardless of the original intent.

We all have problems. But we all accept that we have problems, and we're all able to live our lives anyway. You are letting your problem ruin your life. That's an attitude problem that we really can't help you with.
Just go to the doctor and find out what you need to do in order to live a normal life where you do normal things and no one ever has to know about your freakish twisted feet. You are doing the exact opposite of this right now.
You sound like a joy to be around.

I'm 16 and I have been experiencing foot pain. When I went to the podiatrist, he said it was good that I saw him at such a young age.

#1 see a doctor for your foot
#2 see a psych for your unhealthy/irrational insecurity or go find people in the world with real problems and see what you think about your feet then.

OP, you stated that you are self conscious and that you care about what people think of you. Are you sure you want to take up cycling or are you planning on riding in a business suit?
OR...you can just train your brain to cope!

Maybe his flat feet wouldn't be noticeable in a business suit

But see, the problem is you are NOT dealing with it. You are too embarrassed to deal with it. Personally I don't know what you have to be embarrassed about. LOVE YOUR FEET!!! THEY DO NOT LOOK FUNNY AND ARE NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED ABOUT!!!

I had "flat" feet as a child, got orthotics, took care of pain and problems. That being said, I rode like crazy with "flat" feet, no issues.
My feet look worse than yours right now, and I run a ton. Get the to a pediatrist ASAP.
Your foot problem should not be an issue when riding.

Also, your feet will hurt less if you zip tie some aerobars onto your bike before you go riding.
