Used caad 8
So I took the risk and bought a used cannondale caad 8 equipped with ultegra on craigslist today. $600.
This is my first road bike. I needed to upgrade as I had been riding the windy mountain roads of pa on a bianchi track bike..hm.. didn't really have the money to upgrade.
My caad 8 seems amazing, though I am a bit wary of buying used aluminum with carbon fork. But the frame just blew my mind. I hope the bike doesn't blow up in a literal sense..I am kind of hard on bikes. This bike was raced for a season..and I didn't get a clear figure on the amount of miles that are on the bike. I still think/hope I got an ok deal. I will give an update when I have put some serious miles on it myself...so far I am thrilled with this bike...

Welcome to CAAD club. =)
CAAD is very strong frame so you won't have a problem but clean up bike to find if there is something wrong.
I replaced a seatpost to Kcnc and weight become much better now.

Nice bike. I finally got a chance to try one out the other day. Amazing what they can do with an aluminum frame. Not quite as light, but the bottom bracket seemed just as stiff as my carbon bike. Sounds like you got a great deal.

Thanks everyone for your input. I was finally able to take the bike out for a few lengthier rides. It exceeded my expectations. It is nearly race ready entry level set up which is exactly what I was looking for: ultegra equipped, slice carbon fork, mavic equipe wheels, ritchey wcs stem, 3t bars, Fsa slk cranks, Fsa seat post, selle italia seat. The only thing I plan to change is the seat post to a straight Thompson elite..really not liking the laid back seat post. I still intend to post a photo eventually. It was powder coated and new decals black on black.

Let me make sure I understand you.
You've been riding a track bike in PA mountains? I've ridden a bit south and east of State Collage and while there are long, long valley rides but at some point you're generally gonna have to climb and descend some pretty steep grades.
Did you have a brake on this track bike?

Yes, I had installed a front brake on the track bike. You may have ridden close to where I am. I ride mostly in the Harrisburg area or slightly north of there. Sometimes I ride in the Lancaster area as well. But yeah..I would take the track bike through some pretty steep grades..it was rough. Some of the local road riders were impressed by this, but I never intend to do that again.
