Should I?
Thinking about dropping a pretty penny on this 2012 Venge, what advantages would I get coming from an SL3 to this, I relatively ride flats, not many hills where I live. Besides looking very freakin awesome, is there any. Please Venge owners , chime in and share me your thoughts...

I have nothing that will help you, but I'm curious to see how many actual Venge owners there are on here. I wish you well, and I hope you buy it, for no other reason than I think it's a sick bike. Just remember that you are going to need some deep carbon wheels with large white decals to complete the looks of the bike

If you have the coin and as long as you understand it isn't going to make you any faster, I say get it. That is freaking HOT!

Your wallet will be much lighter. That should improve accelerations on the flats.

Sweet frame, and if you're ok paying MSRP then go for it. Personally I'd not pay more than $2500 for that frame though, and if I wait long enough I'm sure I'd find that deal brand new at a shop.
For comparison, I just bought an S-works Roubaix SL3 with full dura-ace (but I let the shop keep the wheels and cassette - I have my own I use) for $3200+tax. MSRP on the complete bike was $8000. That's brand new from an LBS. It was a 2011 bike....I watched the price slowly decrease over 6 months until I negotiated my deal.

Owner of the LBS is going to give me a significant discount, I wouldnt consider it, if he didnt. I learned before, when I bought a used Giant TCR Advanced and found a hairline crack down the seat tube, luckily an LBS gave me a good faith crash warranty and gave me a new frame for half price, but still on top of what I already paid for the used bike. I have looked on eBay, but its hard to drop 2-3k without proper inspection. At least I will have peace of mind knowing I have life time warranty on this frame.

You'll lose some stiffness (theres that word again) and gain some aero.
Biggest gain is in hotness!! Do eeet!!
But make sure you can ride 50+ mph first...so you'll actually deserve the frame!

I bet (hope?) aero bikes will get more common over the next 5 years.

I thought the S-Works Venge was uber stiff, teeth chattering stiff?
I think the OP will lose ride quality coming from a Tarmac.

Man, I love the looks of the Venge. I have been resisting temptation to buy one. Heck, I would settle for an S-Works Tarmac over my Roubaix! Maybe I'll give myself a goal of breaking 22.5mph in the monthly TT race by the end of the season. It can be my reward to my hard work.
I say if it fits in your budget and you want it, go for it. Just post plenty of pics!
So where are you guys finding the discounts on the bikes/frames? I can't even find a 2011 Tarmac/Roubaix S-Works frame for less than $2995.

just looked up some reviews...they say its between the sl2 and the sl3...I know the sl4 is stupid stiff...so i guess it would be a matter of preference.

I think I'd just go s-works tarmac....

LOL...how stiff does one need a bike to be? How many people can actually ride a modern higher end bike to its limits?
Kinda like when it comes to aero bikes. If you can't...it don't matter how "stiff" a bike is.

Im no powerhouse by any measure, but I can tell when a bike flexes, especially on sprints and climbs...the difference between my old orbea and my friends current sl4 was ridiculous.

THat frame is disgusting. I can't believe you would even consider buying it... But if your dead set on spending your money I suppose buy it and I'll pm you my mailing address. I hate to do it but it's the least I can do...
