This bike is hot, 54 cm is the best size of it. 58 and greater look like a horse with a missing leg or two.

I live in Illinois so no, no big hills, lots of short and occasionally sharp rollers though.

If you are going for cosmetic stuff in photos, the chain should be on the big ring up front (like you have it) and on roughly the 3rd smallest cog. This will keep the rear derailleur stretched out and vertical. It looks pleasing to the eye and shows off the part better.
I enjoy this bike and the shots. Nice job man!

I see that bike and list and would look forward to dropping you. Speedplay pedals and Specialized saddle on a non-Specialized bike. . .two surefire signs of someone who isn't a strong rider. . . Don't worry about that Evo. Just tell the shop to mount it correctly next time after it punctures next week on the C group ride. . .

OP...congrats on the exceptional build.
A question. How do you like the Zipp Winged handlebars? Impressions? They look similar to the Kwing albeit even broader on the tops and wonder if you have tried other winged bars and the Zipp bars are your fav?

I like the Zipps but I rarely ride on the tops and spend most of my time in the drops. If you spend a lot of time on the tops it's just not comfortable. They look awesome and are stiff enough for me. I had ITM K-Swords that were even better ergonomically but weren't as pretty and a little too flexy.
Thinking about trying some of the new pads. I love the yellow in the dry, but in the wet ... they aren't great.

Keep a close eye on that RD hanger. I built an S5 for one of our customers and it set new records for RD-hanger flimsiness. If it were mine, I'd buy an aftermarket RD hanger (and a spare).
Also note that the slotted side of the Dura-Ace CN-7901 chain is supposed to face inboard, not outboard. The outer plates have specific upshift/downshift shaping, so it's not just a cosmetics issue.

I've got the chain the right way, just botched the rear tire when I mounted it and I'm too lazy to pull it off, reglue, and remount. You are so correct about the rd hanger, very weak and I've been waiting till aftermarket becomes available.

OK, So I went out with my camera to take a close look at my chain to prove I did it right, Nhlruhr. Holy freaking stop dancing christ!!!!!
Well, I have no excuses, DUH! ... Duh! ... Duh!. Since I flatted (my rear tire) 200 feet out of my Sunday ride start, I have an excuse to now change the rear tire alignment. I will also be changing to the new SRAM 1091R chain to find out how good that is. Maybe I'll even have it in the right direction. )#@!$*&)_@#%)_*NE)FN_ERN)_

Chrimson, they're not terrible, and they would be fine the way I use them, on a long climb where you have no weight on your hands anyway, but the shape sure isn't great. Aero yes, comfy ...no.

The tops don't appear quite as ergonomic as the Kwing and why I asked...look too wide to wrap one's hand around.

Crimson, we don't have long hills, but that doesn't mean it's flat. We have a lot of rollers and some are sharp, 20% or better, thus the compact. Here is a fairly typical training ride, 49 miles, 1,700 feet climbing.
