Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ProMotive / Raleigh Militis or Revinio

Hey all,

does anyone have experience with the website promotive.com? it gives discounts for some bikes and parts. any experience you can share would be helpful.

assuming the website is cool and legit. i could get a Raleigh militis or revinio for a hefty amount off retail - i cant find much on google about either of these bikes other than the militis is more racing and revinion more comfort. can anyone share experience/ a review of them? raleigh's reputation seems kinda spotty if you ask me, but they could be making killer bikes now for all i know..

thanks!

One of my teammates rides a Revenio (the Ultegra model). He's been pretty happy with it. I considered buying a Militis (ended up with an S2). I've heard nothing but good about Raleigh's recent bikes.

Promotive.com is a very legit site. It give pro deal discounts for industry employees. Could be shop employees, reps, etc.

Both the Militis and Revenio are great bikes, but after owning and riding 2 Raleigh Team frames I'm looking toward a more endurance minded frame like the Revenio now..

I have looked at the promotive site before, but without being a member of a team you can't do much..

I have an alloy Revenio. Awesome bike. Am probably going to upgrade to a carbon one soon. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.

IT HAS ARRIVED! 34mi test ride went really well, only quirks were me getting used to double tap. big note to anyone who buys this though, the promotive site (and another i saw) list the militis 2 as having a SRAM red front and rear derailer with the rest being force. this is NOT true, the raleigh site is obv correct and i figured when purchasing that red would be a nice bonus but it didnt make sense so i didnt bank on it. not sure i would notice a difference regardless.
some assembly required
ready to go!

and yes, those pedals are getting replaced waiting for shipment of some nice look's.

thanks for the info again, bike came less than a week from order date.
