No, not asking you to do a search for me but let me know if have come across anything that seems to be a good deal on some good name brand britches. There were/is some smokin deals on Competetive Cyclist but alas, they have run out of the large size. Cheers

The Voler bibs are nice.
Never tried the Falconi bibs from love2pedal.com but they look like a good deal

Performance Bike has a sale on both their Elite and Ultra bibs. Many here like 'em. Ironically, the Ultra bibs cost more than the Elites, but I prefer the Elites. (I have both.)

When your young, and have a "Ferrari engine" you dont care what your riding on. When you get older, you pursue comfort, durability. Then it boils down to Assos and Gore Bike Wear. Both expensive, both "Wow, this is COMFY." Neither noticeable in your 20s-30s. Late 40s-50s-60s, then you notice it. When you're way slower than you used to be. but you want to continue riding, when you are getting passed left and right, and eventually, even by girls. You can quit, discouraged, "I'm too slow," or you can discover, "I like exploring, I like helping turtles get across the road."

I just got a pair of the Perf Elites and rode them today, they're pretty nice...not quite as nice as my P.I.'s, but they are on sale for $59 and they are really nice for that price. As for the Falconi's from love2pedal...I have a pair of them, they have a pretty small chamois and are made of relatively thin lycra. Not bad...but I wouldn't get another pair. I do like the Voler stuff, I had a ton of it 10-12 years ago when I was still riding for a club.

Got my Performance Ultra bibs for $44 today (they were very cheap on June 2nd), and I have to say they're going to be in my backup pile of stuff. They are good, but the pad doesn't come up very high in the front and my bits instead move around against the rough fabric rather than the smooth pad. Aside from that, they seem great. Hopefully the issue will resolve itself with a few trips through the washing machine to soften the fabric up a bit.
I'll probably end up getting more PI PRO bibs or some Castelli's next time. For $44 it was worth the gamble just based on all the good reviews here.

Performance Ultra and Elite bibs, especially if you find them on sale or a coupon (check the coupon forum). Excellent, I have a pair of both and they are my "go to" bibs (although I have others I also use).
Get on the chainlove notification system. It seems like they always have bibs on sale. It will be a crap shoot whether you like them though.
One good thing about Performance other than the quality/price ratio: if you don't like them, return them no questions asked even if you've used them. FWIW

Try www.classiccycling.com.
Great deals and close outs on even higher end stuff. Great customer service, prompt processing of orders, free shipping in the US.
I got my Castelli Body Paint bib shorts with the Progetto X2 chamois for 150. They also have the Castelli Nero Classic bib shorts with the Kiss3 chamois for 50. I think both are worth the money but for different purposes - Kiss3 for 1-2 hour rides and Progetto X2 for longer rides. Castelli's generally run a size smaller than Pearl Izumi and Gore but the same size as Giordana's and Assos's but their inseam/leg length are shorter than Giordana's and the same as Assos's.
Btw, I use Chamois cream.

2nd the Voler bibs. Excellent stuff. I have several of their Elite bibs. The other bibs I have rarely get used. Elite's are reduced to $58 right now.

I've got a few pairs of the Falconi bibs and i have no complaints. I've never ridden on top quality bibs so i can't say how much better something more expensive would be. For the price i'm happy with them.

The Pearl iZUMi Men's Quest bibs aren't on special but I really like them. I have a pair and just ordered another from Amazon ($57). They were my first pair of bibs and I'm pissed at myself for waiting so long.

3rd for Voler. I have some I really like. I also get emails from The Clymb, their deal this time around is some Castelli gear. They had some bibs as low as $40. I didn't look to see what sizes they have in stock though.

I've actually found some great deals on ebay. Yeah, it comes from China but I bought a Castelli Set (bibs and jersey) for $38 shipped.
