Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tried to kill me

I just left the beer tent in my home town and went out and back past it. Needless to say the drunks were out. One bastard cut me off making a left in front of me and had the nerve to honk. Then as I voiced my displeasure at that guy, some idiot decides to take the drivers side and starts walking out into the road towards me. "Whatever" I think, "he's going to come out and curse or whatever". But no. The jackass takes a frigging kick at me!! He catches my right shin. I have momentum and stay up but I grab the brakes and skid to a stop. "What the hell was that?", I yell. And he keeps b(i)tching. His woman grabs him and drags him away with his other two friends. "Are you trying to kill me?!". More b(i)tching. I threaten to dismember him. If I had had one less beer or he had one less friend I would have gone back. I feel like wuss for not rolling the scum bag then and there. There's no way he could have handled me after I'd warmed up. Maybe I'll wait for him tomorrow. Probably not.
I just had to get that out.
Maybe I should be happy to be home alive. I'll think about that. I'll also think about him probably having a busted foot.
G'Night.

*****. Not fighting back.

You can't wait for him, it's over now. Did what you did. Positive side is you didn't find out if he had a knife, gun, or good fist punch.

I hope when you wake up from your drunken slumber with a sore shin you realize what a shortsighted thing it was to be riding your bike while drunk. Given that two different people got pissed at you for what you did, maybe it wasn't them...but you...

First you shocked there were drunks (including yourself) because again you were at a beer tent! You should've just keep your mouth shut and kept riding after the first incident.

To bad the cops didnt show and arrest everyone for drinking. They could've slap you and the vehicle driver with a DUI
